We are very excited to offer our next Silent Auction item, just in time for the holidays, and the gardener in your life—which may be yourself. One of our members, Leslie Wilson, of Elemental Expressions, has crafted a vintage greenhouse out of windows from a local historic farmhouse. We’re so glad they saved the windows! The farmhouse is actually on land that The Manada Conservancy has protected, so these greenhouses have special meaning to us. We say greenhouses, because this is the second one that Leslie has donated to us—the first one sold for $100 at our Hershey Farmer’s Market stand this summer. The glass in the windows is original. The lid lifts so you can easily put your pots inside. The greenhouse footprint is approximately 29 X 31 inches. It stands approximately 42” tall.
THE DEADLINE FOR BIDDING ON THIS ITEM IS NOON ON DECEMBER 21, 2011. If you would like to bid, please email office@manada.org or give us a call at (717) 566-4122. The highest bid will be posted here, as we receive them. Emailing us or calling us allows you to bid without having your name appear, but if you would like to bid in the comment section, you may do so.
This item sold for: $50 Thank you!

One of our founding Board members, David Parke, aside from his experience and deep knowledge of the non-profit world, was also a gifted woodworker. David left our Board for health reasons, but before leaving, he donated this beautiful hand-crafted Walnut Bowl, with the intent of benefited the organization that he had been close to for so many years. We now offer this bowl for silent auction.
You may email your bid, with your contact information, to office@manada.org, or you may call us at (717) 566-4122. We will update this auction site with the latest bid, without using names. Bidding will end at noon sharp on November 16, 2011.
The footprint of the bowl is approximately 26″ X 14″, but this is approximate, because of the unusual shape. The opening of the scooped out bowl is approximately 14″ X 26″ at the widest points. The bowl is crafted from a walnut log and follows the contours of the branched log. There are a couple of unobtrusive cracks within the bowl, which you may be able to see on the close-up. This is to be expected in a piece like this and does not diminish its beauty. It is finished with a food-safe finish, though we do not recommend using it for wet foods, and consider it a decorative piece.
If the photos don’t provide enough information, please call us or email us with questions. The bowl may also be viewed at our office at 113 E. Main Street, Hummelstown, but please call first to make sure someone is here!
THE AUCTION HAS ENDED! THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION. THE FINAL BID WAS $250.
